Langston Hughes, Gordon Parks and Frank Marshall Davis were all born in Kansas, a land full of uncertainty and contradictions for African Americans, each developing remarkable literary talents. Dr. Tidwell will examine how the birthplace of these Kansas writers influenced their work.
